Ink carries a story. Ink carries memory. Ink carries lineage. Join the Lotus Mana Center and the UC AANAPISI Executive Council for the closing event of AandPI Heritage Month: Tattooing as Epistemology: Link in the Ink — Austronesia to Polynesia featuring artist and cultural practitioner Joel Albañez. Through conversation, art, and lived experience, this event explores tattooing as Indigenous knowledge, spiritual practice, cultural continuity, and ancestral connection across the Pacific. Rooted in the Philippines, Hawaiʻi, Hip Hop culture, and Pacific tattoo traditions, Joel’s work bridges the old ways and new generations — honoring the sacred stories carried through our bodies and communities. As we close out AandPI Heritage Month, we invite our community to reflect on the stories we carry, the knowledge we inherit, and the connections that continue to shape us across oceans and generations.
