Bio
Francine Izabelle Olpoc (she/her/siya) is a first-generation, low-income Filipino American born to Filipino immigrants. She was raised in Los Angeles, CA, where she developed an interest in community involvement and development, encompassing aspects of identity such as culture, entertainment, leadership, education, socioeconomic status, and healthcare. As a non-traditional student, she has continued to stay resilient in completing her undergraduate education while giving back to the communities that have led her to her current path.
As the interim Business and Operations Specialist at the Lotus Mana Center, Francine continues to foster and promote the mission of the Asian and Pacific Islander Retention Initiative by creating endearing connections that highlight the importance of a supportive community in a holistic sensitive manner. Her dedication and compassion for providing resources and support to communities are ever-growing qualities she brings to the team and the UC Davis community.
As a lifelong learner, Francine enjoys learning more about the world, its people, and the various activities that bring others joy and empower resilience. Typically, you can find her with her chosen family, enjoying good food and quality time, creating artsy projects, spending time with her fur children, exploring, and locking in with school/work. She is the happiest in the presence of genuine connections, ice cream, music, and a healthy, positive space.
