Bio
Kaley is a Chinese adoptee born in Fuling, China and grew up with a multi-cultural background in Santa Cruz, California. She is currently in her fifth year of undergrad pursuing a degree in Marine and Coastal Sciences and minoring in Chinese. After graduating, she plans on working in her field for a few years before pursuing a graduate program that integrates conservation work and research with science communication.
As a Community Organizer, Kaley hopes to build upon what she has learned through working with the center and her own experiences to serve the UC Davis community. She started her journey with the Lotus Mana Center in her first year, and has had the privilege to grow her leadership skills, cultural consciousness, and community engagement as an intern before taking on her new role. Her focus includes working alongside student organizations to bring visibility to underrepresented communities within the Asian and Pasifika diasporas, as well as working with her colleagues to expand their academic retention work in the new Lotus Mana center.
Outside of her work with the Lotus Mana Center, she also serves as a co-director in H2O Dance Crew, a dance group on campus. Her other hobbies include learning new recipes, watching documentaries, and learning how to play new board and card games!
